Mythology & Art – Transforming Through Difficult Times

In La Primavera by Sandro Botticelli; The nymph Chloris was kidnapped and raped by Zephyr (cold wind). To prove he is sorry, he transforms Chloris into Flora, the goddess of flowers. (And so Chloris, who is being grabbed by Zephyr and Flora, right next to her, are the same person in different moments.) One only achieves purity by going through difficult times and burning through imperfections (Spring). Therefore Flora represents Chloris purified and she is giving flowers away to donate her purity onto others.

Do you agree with the statement “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger?”

How do you transform yourself and your surroundings when faced with obstacles?
